I am a dog person – firmly planted in dog is God spelled backwards. I have two females and 1 male terrier…Norfolk terriers and Norwich terrier. My Norfolk female is a sweet and happy little dog with a Teflon coating that has her thinking she is a big dog. She moves fast and last week swallowed a large round chewey without chewing. After a sleepless night we took her to animal emergency where she had to be sedated, and have it removed.
My thoughts were fear filled – I notice the fear far more than I noticed the thoughts – but I have been at this long enough to realize that when I am in that fearful state, it is because my thoughts are running wild. I also have been through it a few times, and so I know to let it be. Be in the moment, get her the help she needs, and have a deep knowingness, it will pass.
Again, no surgery (a wonderful vet – shout out to Dr. Ting in Reno Nevada) used the magic tongs. She did really well with her medication and is bouncing around in the snow as we speak. Turning my direction once again – I saw how wonderful it is to have a vet emergency hospital in Reno – to have a friend who could watch the other dogs while we hurried to get her care – how kind everyone was at the Emergency center and yes our dear little Molly even made their Facebook page.
Word to the wise – fearful feelings will always pass – because fearful thoughts will always pass. I guarantee it!
