Seven Whispers
Several years ago I read a wonderful little book entitled Seven Whispers-Listening to the voice of Spirit by Christina Baldwin. Christina is one of the pioneers of journal writing whose course cemented my own commitment to journaling.
This week that book (on my shelf since 2002) spoke to me -As I began reading it again I realized the message is timeless and the transitions, anxiety and confusion that reign in our time ,would be gently served by its message.
Every morning, Christina recited these seven whispers as a meditation and prayer – and then wrote about each one. I share them now hoping that wherever you are as you are reading this, you will pause and whisper them yourself. Always with love and always with tenderness.
Maintain Peace of Mind
Move at the pace of guidance
Practice certainty of purpose
Surrender to surprise
Ask for what you need and offer what you can
Love the folks in front of you
Return to the world
Remember the Divine Intelligence is always speaking and available to the extent of our receptivity. Find a way to listen to Spirit remembering it doesn’t take physical stamina or special training; we don’t have to travel to exotic sites or holy places; we don’t even have to get out of bed.
This is the practice -recite and see what happens. Call and see what responds. Notice and see what helps.
