Gifting Beauty
One of the supreme gifts we can offer each other is the awareness of ever-present beauty. In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season we can forget to notice and give beauty to our friends, family and our world. The above picture looks a lot like my neighborhood this week – and the snow kept on falling. If I am not very observant, I forget how beautiful it is…how magnificent the gift of moisture is to a drought infested state. So, I paused, I drank in the purely driven snow and took a few pics for friends and insta-grammers. For my friends in warm states, I got ooos and ahhhs – and so beautiful comments. From my snow neighbors I got – be careful…be safe….be careful of your back. LOL – nothing however can take away from the awe of the beauty of Mother Gaia as she sends her angelic snow – and nothing can take away from the gift of giving the awareness of beauty to all.
My favorite form of beauty is music. It can bring me the energy of dancing, or the tears of being moved deeply by artistry. This last couple of weeks, I have been moved by the singing group that is part of this blog. This is due to the Big Love of Carlton who included one of their pieces in a recent meditation session. (Thank you friend). And now I am hooked and the beauty I want to share is more than just the song. For years, I have listened and wept at this piece performed by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli…I have given their gift of beauty in a previous blog and to workshops over the years. Now, I am moved by not only the talent of these artists, but of the new world- bringing the beauty in a way that is diverse, and fresh and exciting.
My gift to you this week – and wouldn’t you know they made the video as a snowy scene….ah the infinite showing up in my blog.
Please accept this gift of beauty and pass it along! (and be sure you catch the words in the last verse)
