Heart Over Matter-

My Father was my first teacher on the power of Thought.  In any circumstance where I was struggling, he would relentlessly repeat “Mind Over Matter”.  Even when I had the flu and was quite ill, he would stand outside the bathroom door with his mantra…”mind over matter, mind over matter,”  The journey psychology has taken in my lifetime bears this out – we have training offering over training offering that focused on everything from positive thinking, to forming visionary thinking and creating a vision board to support it.  From believing our environment created our experience; to our thoughts create our experience.  Anyone who has experimented with this method no doubt can testify to its value.

The new era I touched on last week is calling for transcending the work on thoughts, personal thoughts, positive thoughts, and so forth.  We have accomplished that to a great degree and we are still seeing the results of thinking that produces violence, hatred, racism, and such.  Clearly whatever we know about mind control has not yet produced a society based on compassion, wisdom and understanding.

I am suggesting that dropping from the mind to the heart; intentionally focusing 18” lower to the Heart Center is where we now need to work.  Beginning to tune in to our inner wisdom as opposed to the latest thought storm on how to live a meaningful life; will bring us to this new age that wants to be born.  Creating our own Heart Path that leads and allowing the intellect to follow and manifest is a bit like skiing backwards.  It doesn’t feel normal but you get an entirely different experience.

I suggest beginning your own Heart Path with the breathing exercise from last week – breathing from and through the heart.  Then beginning to ask some heartfelt questions – what is the most compassionate and loving response to this situation?  Or, What is the heart’s answer to this dilemma?  This can be from balancing your checkbook (does anybody do that anymore) to a decision about medical treatment – the scale of bigger decisions to lesser decisions is a myth and part of that Mind thing.  The Mind wants to put things in an order that creates an accomplishment – the Heart wants to feel included and share its treasures of intuition and boundless care. It’s not that one is better – they lead to a different place.  Being heart centered and keeping your heart open is the HeartPath we are exploring.

Begin this week to let your Heart lead over matter, (matter includes issues and so-called problems) – get a taste of how heart centered you are currently, and move the needle.

You gotta have the heart in charge!
