Heart Path of Receiving
Frequently when we think of heart centering and heart opening – we think of giving. At least for me, when my heart is moved by a story, or by music or by beauty – I naturally want to give or share what has moved me…(see music below). Sometimes that is a tangible gift, or an encouraging text – a phone call with a voicemail of love or big hugs. These are beautiful expressions of the Heart Path coming through me and it is all good.
Just as frequently, I forget to receive- to let the movement I experience be for me – that the love I feel is for me. The heart’s capacity to receive is infinite and always available. It does, however, require that we allow it – that we welcome it – that we marinate in it – and realize it is for our wholeness and is necessary for us to continue to flourish in this life.
There are so many things that keep us from absorbing the Path of Heart – certainly the lack that can exist that we are enough – that we are beautiful and full of gifts and divine talents. It can be our experiences in life – traumas or mistakes we made that left us feeling unloved – and we believe that is what we deserve. It can be the conditioning of family and belief systems that have kept us small and limited in our ability to imagine a Path of Heart that is uniquely our own, and also includes all of the amazing paths of our friends, our family members, colleagues and yes strangers we encounter daily.
Your Heart Path is just for you -and it is different than a mission or a purpose. It is revealed through the intelligence of the Heart (not the mind) and it always includes limitless Love for you. If we don’t allow ourselves to receive this Love and be held by its warm embrace, we will not see our Heart Path and will struggle to unfold its treasures.
This week pay attention to how often you reach out before you turn within – how often you give and don’t allow yourself to receive. Notice what moves you and let yourself feel all of it – as if it is a gift just for you that is for your highest always….because it is.
