Life is like a Ladder
A ladder is a good metaphor for Life. Every experience, relationship, thought etc brings us either higher on the rungs or back to the starting point. Consciousness allows us to rise when we carry the vibration of joy or harmony or gratitude.
This week has been a week of gratitude for me…a long-time friend with whom I have had too many altercations to recall, visited for a week. It started out to be a long weekend and just kept going. The weather was on the gray side so we spent a lot of time just talking – something that used to get us into trouble. The feeling tone was gentle and caring and we climbed a few rungs during that visit. Then my birthday included a surprise lunch from some good friends where there was laughter and even canine visitations from my friend’s service dog. Higher and higher I went…someone told me they had not seen me that happy in a long time.
The week continued with Bill’s memorial day of passing where Mother Nature chimed in with 4 more inches of snow but also more gratitude for the life we had together and the moments and the memories continued to bring me more feelings of Love. After a year of feeling stuck on the first and lowest rung – I could feel myself moving in the right direction.
All of life presents an opportunity to climb – to use every moment- those we like and those well, we wish didn’t arrive – still as a possibility of surprise and miracles. The book I have been mentioning for months is out and that was a climb of a happy dream – now a reality. Worth every step along the way. (All Roads Lead to Dog…by me!)
Music is a way to move up the rungs for me and insure that I will see and think something new and more vibrant and alive. I am sure you might find my endless devotion to the Boss to be a bit tedious for those of you who are not dedicated fans…but I have found over the years, that there is more to Bruce’s music then music. It is its own road to celebration – so one more time for the sheer pleasure of it, put on your dancing shoes and give it a whirl. The words are slightly changed from the original but the feeling is true…we are brothers and sisters all…so lets climb together.
