DO Everything with Love
Love can be relegated to the romantic or to the familial – or to the special. In truth, Love is for everything and everyone…it doesn’t need a category or a distinction. It can be seen in the gorgeous play of Spring – everything so green and the morning Robin’s song. It can be seen in the kindness of strangers opening a door or saying hello at the post office. (my favorite place to share love).
But as Dorothy says above…putting love first and into the most ordinary of things allows it to be center stage in all aspects of life…as it so rightfully deserves to be. One of my favorite areas is to put love into cooking or baking…or sending it with a card or just the energy of Love across the miles. It feels wonderful and a new world feels possible -one where Love is truly all there is.
The past couple of weeks have been moments of surprising Love. I spent a week with an old friend that as I mentioned, frequently triggered feelings of conflict and debate. This visit I decided I wasn’t having it – I was going to experience my friend differently. That decision along with a firm intention, brought a journey so delightful and miraculous that only Love was left to experience.
Memories of people I haven’t thought of in years came into my awareness and with those memories, came a realization of the Love I had mistakenly missed, and forgiveness brought healing and joy.
It was like everywhere I looked, whether in my mind, heart or thoughts – each was suddenly illuminated by the Light of Love. Someone from long ago and far away has re-entered my life and we are finding our way to a gathering which I know only Love can arrange.
I recommend once again, making this a practice. Try infusing love into the ordinary…your morning coffee or tea- your reading the headlines or the bylines. The boiling of an egg and the making of your bed…just pause – bring in the feeling of Love and pour it over whatever you are doing. Before the day closes, pour that same Love over yourself. Taste the juice of self-love by giving yourself as much of it as you can – in any way you can. It isn’t self -indulgence – like buying yourself something special (although truthfully I do that way too often) and it isn’t a day at the spa…(although that is good too) . Rather it is the pure knowing that you are made of Love and marinating in that truth gives you all the Love you will ever need.
I will be practicing too…and sending you love as I do.
