Nothing is Impossible
In 1909, Guglielmo Marconi, the Italian inventor who pioneered long-distance radio transmission, won the Nobel Prize for sending vibratory radio waves 2,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean.
But when he first suggested that frequencies of energy can be transmitted without wires, people thought he was nuts. He was referred to an insane asylum when he wrote to the Italian ministry of Posts and Telegraphs explaining wireless telegraphy.
“Everyone knows that is impossible,” detractors scoffed at the crazy experiments he conducted in his parents’ attic. Flash forward 80 years and I am sitting in a meeting with Craig McCaw, the so- called father and visionary of the seamless, wireless network we now rely on every day. I remember thinking that visionaries are very inspiring and even entertaining, but seriously – this cellular phone thing will probably come and go.
I learned something important that day from Craig. Yes, believing our thoughts, dreams and beliefs are being transmitted out into the universe, shaping our destiny, is probably not going to be popular with everyone. Some go as far as to call that and me delusional.
But that is fine by me.
I’d rather be appointed Mayor of Crazy Town than habitually focus on what is not working, on what can’t happen…..what seems impossible.
I believe I can sit here in my home in the Sierras and, with my powerful, radio-transmitting thoughts, create joy, peace and insane happiness for everyone.
What do you think is impossible that in fact, is already happening??
