MINDFULNESS, TRANQUILITY AND PEACE

This is the recipe for difficult times.  No matter what your preference may have been for our cultural leadership, this has been a challenging week.  The national crisis hot line announced a high increase in calls regarding despair, fear and uncertainty.  The elements of stress, disease and certainly a lack of happiness, can be the result.

It is important to pay attention and stay mindful of what we can do, what we want to do and how we want to be.  And as we ride the waves of change, it is also important to focus on the vibration we want to carry through it all.

Peace is something we can be and share.  It is something we can call up in ourselves in meditation- in our practices of yoga, or tai chi,in our quiet walks in nature and any other way that resets the register and keeps us tranquil.

For me, uplifting reading and music are the key instruments of bringing me to my natural and innately healthy state.  They assist me in quieting the noise of worry and allow me to see more clearly what is mine to do.

From spiritual content to excellent fiction, I can lose myself and my mind for precious moments of mental peace.  For a start on my selection, check out Louise Penney – she has a new book out from her lovely Montreal area characters.

Whatever you select, remember the peace resides within…we will never reach a peaceful and global place, without the peace within.  And we don’t find peace in the music or in our pets (petting a dog is also good for tranquility).  We already have and are peace – we just  need to access it and be with it long enough for our system to settle down and join us.

This week I have been listening to music just before sleep..it has definitely helped me to relax and allow my true self to take over.

I have included a favorite selection…it is a hymn in this case without words , but beautifully orchestrated.  Save it to listen to when you have the ability to let it pour over you and marinate you in its beauty.

Peace to all now and always,
