Vision or Visualization
One of my favorite quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King is ..” the arc of history is long, but it bends towards justice.” I never realized how profound a vision he must have had to say that in his time. There was very little evidence of justice on the horizon. Equally impactful were the words from the I have a dream speech…all of his speeches spoke to a vision. A vision of a better world, a vision of a just and global society, a vision of the triumph of equality. He was seeing beyond and before any evidence to support these statements. That makes Dr. King and everyone who sees and speaks of that possibility, a visionary. One who can see what can be – not in psychic or premonition way- but in a complete way of knowing what is possible.
To me the term vision has come to mean the Divine Idea of Life – long before any evidence. The idea that could be – peaceful, joyful, abundant, safe …you get the idea. Life as it was meant to be. The qualities of life -not the how it happens.
Visualization is the ability to fill in the details of form..its the how, the pathway if you will. This can be used to picture a new job, a new relationship, a new home or vacation with all the bells and whistles needed for completion. It is important to be able to visualize – but without vision, it is limited.
I have been fortunate to know or observe people of vision in my lifetime and I have also been fortunate to use a wonderful process of coming to know the vision that is trying to emerge; as how I can participate and contribute to that vision seeing the light of day. It’s both beautiful and powerful. If you have a desire to know the vision that is ideal for your life in these times, please reach out to me – and I will happily lead you through the process. In the meantime, know which you are in…creating a vision with Divine qualities or picturing in detail the form you want it to take-
Peace,
