Give Without Expecting Anything in Return

Giving in exchange has seemed to be as good as it gets for a while. From products to people, we are into bartering and angling for how we can get more for less.
It caused me to ponder something I learned a few years ago while studying the Sedona method. It was the idea of giving without any expectation, trade or manipulation. It was described as the true giving – when we are so free and delighted with out gift and to whom we are giving it, that all else leaves our minds.
I am no expert, but I can think of several instances where my heart was in that place and If I hoped for anything it was to see delight and joy on the receiver’s face. To know that my gift was just the right one for them. I suppose even that is getting something in return, but at least I am getting closer.
The feeling of euphoria that descended was wonderful…free to be me, free to give lavishly or simply, free to Love without exclusions or fear…this is a real gift and now as I am writing I see it is the gift that keeps on giving. No expectation – no disappointment.
Give it a try this week…just watch – be the observer – be the giver.
