The last few weeks have been interesting…the euphemism for challenging, worrisome etc. It is so easy to forget that we live in a world of thought and the quality of our thoughts and the direction of our thoughts provide our experience…100% – no exceptions.
I took a nasty fall on the ice and gave myself a real conk on the head complete with blood and bruises in all sorts of places. At first, I was heading down the road of what a klutz, omg I am really hurt etc. You get the picture. Then I made a choice to turn in a different direction – I guess you could say seeing the bright side, but at the time it just felt like a subtle shift – and low and behold I was noticing no broken bones, and no stitches, and a good friend came to help me. That chain of thought brought gratitude and soon I noticed I felt better etc.
On reflection, I know that the fall was still there – along with the pain – but my spirits were up and my creakiness seemed almost amusing (I said almost).
The point – nothing external had changed but everything internal had changed. Notice how you can shift the internal experience and watch what happens in the external.
